My favorite Amendment is the first one. The First Amendment is my favorite because it is important, widespread and impactful, and gives Americans the freedom they deserve. The First Amendment is a law. It is part of the US Constitution, which was written in the time of the 1780s to the 1790s. The most famous writers of it are James Madison, Alexander Hamilton, John and Samuel Adams, Thomas Jefferson, and Patrick Henry. It defends the people of the United States of America. It specifically gives freedom of Speech, Religion, Assembly, Press, and Petition. This means that people can protest against things they don’t want or like (Assembly), or practice their beliefs (Religion).

The first reason why the First Amendment is my favorite is because it is important. The First Amendment is what gives us our most important freedoms, freedoms that are included in the constitution as “Human Rights”. Without the First Amendment, the United states would be more like a monarchy than a nation, with the president representing the king and the government representing the officials that are a level higher than normal people. The First Amendment makes people supposedly equal, all with the same rights, but even now that is not completely true. The poorer people are at a lower level.

The second reason why I like the First amendment is because it is widespread and brings a big impact to the nation. By allowing the people to stage revolts and protest against what they don’t like is important. That means that the president is not allowed to harm these protesting people. The First Amendment also allows people to freely practice different religions, meaning that you will not be persecuted simply because you believe different things than the rest of the people. This is impactful because that means that the police can not put you in jail because of this. Before the Americans wrote the Constitution, the people in the 13 colonies were separated by religion.

The third reason why the first amendment is my favorite is because it gives Americans their deserved freedom. Americans work hard and try hard to keep up with their costs, and depend on their freedom to do everyday things. For example, without the First Amendment, the jobs News Writer, Priest, and part of the Politician job would all be impossible because they have to use the some of freedoms in the First Amendment.

In conclusion, the first amendment is a very important law because it controls the Press, Petition, Assembly, Speech, and Religion.
